Powerhouse Music Lessons also promotes active participation in making music with student driven bands organized by a music director. Students who chose to participate in our program are put into groups that have a common musical interest and given two to three songs to work on depending on their lelvel of skill. During weekly lessons each song is worked out among the students and their music director. We encourage students and teachers to coordinate band member schedules so that lessons fall on the same day and approximently the same time. After their weekly lessons band members can work in the Jam Room together.
Additionally, each Be In The Band participant will rehearse once a week on stage at the Powerhouse Music Studios located in our same plaza in a safe and comfortable enviornment. Rehearsals are conducted with an instructor who will assit in the bands development and progress. Each band will have seven rehearsals as a part of the package ending with the Powerhouse Showcase held the eighth week. Should the band wish to rehearse more than the program provides additional time can be purchased and booked at Powerhouse Music Studios with a discount as a Powerhouse Music Lesson student.
For individual vocalists wishing to perform who are not affliated with a band, the Powerhouse Band will provide back up and will be available for weekly vocal preparation for the Powerhouse Showcase. The same costs apply to individuals performances as for those in bands.
Be The Band/Classical division will also host a classical series for the students who are interested in ensemble performances. To Play Well With Others is a cornerstone philosophy that encompasses the passions of students who perfer the classics as a complimentary program for quartets. Our Powerhouse Showcase will exhibit the efforts of classically oriented students with the same eight week preparation series with an accompanying instructor for oversight. For the student who wants to perform as a Soloist our eight week program operates with oversight from their sponsoring instructor.
