Do you love to sing? Have you ever wanted a professional recording of yourself singing one or more of your favorite songs? Powerhouse Music has just hired Warner Brothers Music producer Tony Crawford to power up our new recording division. What does that mean for you?
Demos can be made at Powerhouse Music Lessons that are for original music or from Karaoke CDs known as Karaoke Cuts. Our services are completed on computer and make full use of techologies such as ProTools and a host of technologies that can be shared over the internet to further your efforts. A worksheet is given to each person who wants to record a demo. It must be filled out and submitted in advance of the recording date to give time for proper preparation by our producer. The worksheet is required for both orginal tracks and karaoke cuts. Check the Tuition and Fees section of our web site to find just how inexpensive our fees are to record either an oringial or Karaoke Cut.
Originals The cost includes Tony Crawford our engineer /producer time and musical expertise. Tony can assist with all musical tracks by playing and arranging them or by working with you in any capacity you wish. Should you want to play an instrument or two Tony will augment the rest. You will have up to 1 hour for vocal tracks and another hour for the mix.
Karaoke Cuts For Karaoke we need 30 minutes to prepare the song tracks and an hour to capture the vocals with another thirty minutes for the mix. These Demos can be sped up or slowed down. The pitch can be brought up or tuned down. These are just Demos and should not be confused with master tracks. However, master level recordings they can be arranged for both on line students and in house students. Check the policies and procedures for costs and with the front desk for details.
Video Demos
Need a video with that sound. Record your demo and then take advantage of the media room and do you own music video! Or, go in the media room and go live and sing and perform on camera. Additional charges apply but what a great way to save the memory and send it on to agents, grand parents, friends, MySpace, YouTube and more.
Sample
Jackie is 13 years old. She has studied with Monica Margolis of Powerhouse Music Lessons for 6 months. This demo is a karaoke track of Easy to Be Hard from the broadway hit "Hair". This recording session took two hours. One hour to upload the instrumental track. Jackie sang two takes but she had up to an hour for vocal tracks. Just think what you can do!

Tony Crawford’s objective is to record, produce and engineer music demos for the students that are affiliated with Powerhouse Music Lessons at a greatly reduced price that will encourage more writing and more recording. As a signed artist with Warner Brothers Tony understands the inner workings of creative people and what is expected from the record industry. Luckily, that standard is also acceptable for a number of other applications such as music demos, music tracks for television and film scores or perhaps a school project. -Produced and engineered demos with Tom Dumont from “No Doubt” and Michael Patterson “P. Diddy, Enrique Iglesias, Beck, and She Wants Revenge”
-Recorded songs for the following movies: The Celestine Prophecy, Yellow, Appleseed, and Nobel Son
-Written commercials for Diet Coke and Toyota
In 2004, with Roger Love in Hollywood, CA, Tony studied voice and made demos for Roger Love who has trained Rob Thomas, John Mayer, Papa Roach, Pussycat Dolls, Def Leppard, and Mandy Moore.
Since 1995, Tony tenured faculty with over 13 years of experience teaching guitar, bass, drums and voice at Big/North/Powerhouse Music.
What sets Tony Crawford apart is not only his record of creation, but also his foundation in academics for which he has earned a B.A., Business Administration with emphasis on music technology from Mid America University, Oklahoma City, OK. As a teacher at Powerhouse Music Lessons and a producer/engineer at Powerhouse Music Studios Tony is actively working toward a future that embraces the internet for delivery of teaching, demo development and a shared recording landscape. Tony Crawford brings with him the Sonar 7 Producer Edition Auto Tuned, Node NT1 Microphones focus right Pre-amps, Variax Guitars, and live drums/rolling v-drums.
